California Pot Roast
A great recipe for the crock pot. The leftovers make great barbeque beef on a bun.
Brown roast in 3 T of oil
Add
- 2 t salt
- ¼ t pepper
- ½ c water
- 16 oz can tomato sauce
- 1 chopped onion
- 2 minced cloves garlic
Stir-Fried Beef and Broccoli
This is a favorite of ours especially in the summer when the broccoli from the garden is fresh.
- 1-1/2 pounds round steak cut crosswise in thin slices
- 1/2 - 3/4 cups water (divided)
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 2 Tablespoons packed brown sugar
- 3 Tablespoons cooking sherry, wine or wine vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic (crushed)
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 bunch of broccoli (about 4 cups)
- 1 large onion
- 3 Tablespoons oil

This is a recipe we got from my wife’s cousin’s husband – from Arkansas where they love to cook.
- 2T flour
- 1 t salt
- 1/8 t pepper

Beef Curry with Rice and Fruit
We use this with left over roasts.
- Saute in heavy, deep skillet
- 2 T. fat, oil, or shortening
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 1-2 cloves of garlic, minced
Blend in small bowl
- 2 T. lemon juice or vinegar
- 2 –4 t. curry powder
Special Marinade
This marinade can be used over and over again. I store it in a quart jar in the fridge. No Monosodium or Hydrolyzed anything. All natural!
- 1 ½ c salad oil
- ¾ c soy sauce
- ¼ c Worchester sauce
- 2 Tbsp. mustard
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp black pepper
- ½ c wine vinegar
- 2 tsp parsley flakes
- 2 cloves garlic (crushed)
- 1/3 c lemon juice
